Three Fighters Miss Weight at UFC 104

For those who missed the news, three fighters missed weigh at the weigh ins for UFC 104 tomorrow. Gleison Tibau came in a pound over and Josh Neer came in a half pound over their contractual weights for the lightweight bout. It’s understandable for Neer, who took the fight as a late replacement for Sean Sherk, and the difference is not bad. Both fighters agreed to keep the fight on. Anthony Johnson had a more controversial miss, and came in at 176 pounds. This is one of the most… (Full Story)

UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun Preview

Overall, UFC 104 looks like a solid event. It features a few questionable main card fights, but also will feature some awesome undercard bouts that, we can only hope, will get broadcast with the rest of the event. Assuming a number of quick finishes on the main card (which is a distinct possibility), the overall quality of the event will be good. Dave Meltzer has all the details: Word of the injury got out on the… (Full Story)

Videos: Cote and Stevenson Stay Alive. For Now.

Watch Patrick Cote somehow get the decision win over Ricardo Almeida here. As for Joe Steveson, he was up against a much larger and potentially dangerous (to BJ Penn, at least) Gleison Tibau. He got lucky in this fight! I don’t see either fighter going too far, unfortunately. Cote doesn’t have any ground game to compete with anyone else in his division and Stevenson already go destroyed by BJ Penn once. We’ll see what Joe Silva and Dana White have in store for… (Full Story)

UFC 86 Preview

Amir Sodollah is The Ultimate Fighter and now it is time for the coaches to battle. This Saturday in Las Vegas Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will step into the octagon to fight the real ultimate fighter in Forrest Griffin. These two were tapped to be the coaches for 7th season of the UFC’s hit reality show because of their outgoing character, but many believe that the show was a let down and the two coaches weren’t as flamboyant as expected. Let down or… (Full Story)
