Junie Browning Arrested
By Josh Stein on Oct 07, 2009
It’s not secret that Junie Browning (3-1 MMA) has always been a volatile figure. It’s hard to dispute that Browning was the most destructive and dangerous competitor in the history of the Ultimate Fighter, and only by the grace of reality television did Browning have the opportunity to even compete on that series. That said, he probably won’t be stepping in the cage any time soon.
The Las Vegas Review Journal is reporting that Browning has been arrested on three counts of assault. The report says that Browning was taken to the hospital by friends after attempting to overdose on anti-anxiety meds. After trying to leave, Browning assaulted members of the nursing staff, saying: “Do you know who I am? I will kill you and rape your family.”
Browning was booked at the Henderson Detention Center and was released.
Update (10/8/2009, 11:30 PST): It appears that Junie has been cut from the UFC following his arrest.
Update (10/8/2009, 1:30 PST): Shawn Tompkins has released a statement by way of Yahoo discussing training Browning and the event.
