Rosi Sexton vs. Jessica Aguilar, Take Two

Rosi Sexton

In what may well be the most exciting women’s MMA match-up this summer, Bellator Fighting Championships has once again scheduled a fight between Straight Blast Gym UK’s Rosi Sexton and American Top Team’s Jessica Aguilar. The bout, originally set to take place on April 3rd, had to be rescheduled when Aguilar suffered from a shoulder injury. It is now scheduled for June 19th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, giving Aguilar a hometown advantage.

The Bellator fight will take place at 120 lbs. Aguilar’s most recent fight was at 115 lbs at the 2009 HookNShoot/GFight Grand Prix Summit this past January. Aguilar suffered a decision loss against Angela Magana (who she’d previously beaten twice by submission).

Sexton, who normally fights at 125 lbs., is on a 4-fight winning streak and holds notable wins over Julia Berezikova, Windy Tomomi and Carina Damm. A BJJ purple belt, Sexton recently scored a split decision victory over old school Vale Tudo fighter Debi Purcell on August 15th’s ShoXC.
